so i'm being kind of forced out of san francisco. i just can't make it in san francisco and it's not enough help getting a job. i want to raise your awareness about how difficult it is and what a competitive job market is, more competitive in manhattan. you are competing with everybody here, the tech people and i'm talking about twitter and all of these tech companies, the last people that they are looking at is people like me. when you are driving into the city on the 101 or over the bay bridge, the first thing you see are billboards of men crawling around in their boxer shorts. the hardware programmer and ruby on rails programmer. the last people they are looking at is people like me who are older women in tech. i wanted to thank you all and congratulate all of you for your success and everything you try doing; you've tried to accomplish. we are also in the middle of a depression. even though we have these tech companies, it's brutal. i want to thank you all for everyone you have done and raise your awareness that this is not enoug

san francisco taking the lead on everything from signals. we had a strong directive in 2010 to take a big chunk of collisions we see on the street every day and walk first a strategy to protect pedestrians on the street from traffic crashes and the partnership and also a community and vision zero. we raise our game beyond the traditional traffic engineering tool and see looked across all city agencies to take the steps needed to protect all pedestrians. this has been a multi-agency effort as i said. here's a citywide steering committee cochaired by my colleague tim papandreou the policy making work on the initiative had strong support from both staff and leadership level from the police fire department and department of public works as well as supervisors and we see the need for vision zero in a number of buckets which are reflected in the community structure of the coalition so changing public policy including city and state legislation and we're looking to reengineer our streets, things like traffic devices and improve visibility crosswalk

she was a proud native of san francisco. fanny, she was born in 1915 and grew up in the fillmore district. and in the russian neighborhood. sandy met her future husband a new york native on muni. they were married on june 1, 941. they lived on webster until richmond in a home built by her father. they lived there happily only half block from golden gate block and a mile from the golden gate bridge for their lives. sandy was part of the community activities and a member of the sister god sisterhood and a member of the san francisco chapter where she served as treasurer. she worked at the memorial blood count bank and she and bob worked at the scene -- senior center. she lived a long century of a life from 1915-2015 among loving family and friends here in the most beautiful city in the world. although she will be deeply missed she couldn't have asked for more than living in this great city. thanks to her family for raising attention to her life. the rest i will submit. city clerk: thank you, supervisor mar. supervisors tanning

jim lazarus with the san francisco chamber of commerce. happy new year happy new year. >> happy new year happy new year. >> an exciting project, a very informative presentation. i think a lot of us are on the one hand sorry that the restoration of pier 30-32 didn't go forward with the arena because it's such an important mara time asset for the port and the city but this is certainly a great location. like at&t park this event center will be an anchor in mission bay like at&t park has been in the northern sector. with the giants project to the north it will tie together retail, commercial, residential activities that will be the heart and the sowfl the new mission bay. from a staff point of view and commission point of view i hope that this agency will push the developer, the consultants, your own staff, other city departments to approve this project as expeditiously as legally possible. this is a huge economic engine for san francisco. this isn't replacing an existing economic engine. this is new jobs and visitor activities for the city.
